Police officers in Murfreesboro, Tennessee were undergoing a fairly common investigation as they followed the scent of marijuana coming from a Select Inn motel room. But what they found in the motel room was a little bit more than they expected: a full-scale identity theft operation.
After inspecting the room, officers uncovered 186 credit cards, as well as a credit card punch machine, a credit card scanner and a laptop. As expected, there was marijuana in the room, which is what triggered the investigation in the first place.
The drugs and equipment were seized as evidence, and the two men were placed under arrest. They are both from Michigan, and they are 22 and 27 years old. Both suspects are currently in Murfreesboro serving time until their March 24th court date. There is a $100,000 bond on each man.
